German Colonial and Overseas Troops
This page shows period
photographs of German Imperial German colonial and overseas troops in
uniform. They include members of the Schutztruppe, Polizeitruppe,
Imperial Navy, Seebataillone and East Asian Expeditionary Corps. It is
not my aim on this page to reproduce lots of photographs that have
already appeared in print on several occasions or ones copyrighted by
other sources. The photographs below are mostly from small private
collections, often family collections sent to us by descendants of the
soldiers and sailors themselves. As such, most are previously
unpublished. Please respect the owners
of the photographs' copyright and their generosity in sharing them
with us by not reproducing them without prior permission.
