by Chris Dale, Bob Wagner and Oliver Eicke

Wenig's Mahiwa Gun
"The gun is rusted, the paint peeled off and missing through the years, an old veteran with bent spokes and some blasted rivets."
(Oberleutnant z.S. Richard Wenig, Commander of the Mahiwa Gun)

This was one of the turreted guns on the SMS Königsberg it was one of the five guns initially deployed for the defence of Dar Es Salaam. It later retreated south, seeing action at Lindi, Newala and Mahiwa where it was dynamited and abandoned in October 1917.
